NEET aspirant, 22, shoots himself dead, family says he was in extreme stress

A 22-year-old NEET aspirant in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur city shot himself dead inside his residence. Sanskar Singh’s family has said that he was under extreme stress and depression due to exam pressure.

The incident took place on September 27. Sanskar was alone in his room when family members heard a gunshot. He was already dead by the time they found him

The police have said that reasons for the suicide will be clear only after the post-mortem report is available.

Preliminary information has revealed that the victim had been experiencing significant mental stress and depression in recent times.

Family members reported that the student was busy preparing for the high-competitive exam and was constantly under stress.

Neighbours and friends reported that Sanskar was a smart and hardworking student, but in recent months he appeared mentally troubled.

The incident has highlighted the impact of academic pressure on students’ mental health in Bilaspur and similar cities. Psychological experts say that ignoring exam stress and mental pressure can be dangerous.
