A ‘home for terrorists’ in the forests of Kishtwar! From Maggi to gas stoves—the OGW network had created a safe haven.

A major terrorist hideout has been uncovered following an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The material recovered during the search operation makes it clear that the terrorists had been living there in a planned manner for a long time and that this hideout was by no means temporary.

According to sources, security forces recovered a complete kitchen setup for cooking at the hideout.
This included a gas stove, utensils, Maggi packets, food items like rice, lentils, and oil, as well as laundry soap and other household items for daily use. The presence of such a large quantity of supplies indicates that the terrorists were living there with the intention of staying comfortably for weeks or months.

Suspicions deepen over the role of the OGW network

The most important question is how so much ration and household goods reached this remote and densely forested area. Security agencies suspect an active network of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) was behind this operation, helping to deliver food, fuel, and other essential supplies to the terrorists.

The recovered Maggi packets, gas stoves, and other items of daily use indicate that such a hideout would be impossible without local support. Investigating agencies are now working to determine where these supplies came from, who delivered them, and who else was involved.

Search Operations Continue in the Area

Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched a massive search operation. It is feared that other terrorists or their associates may be hiding in the surrounding areas. The situation is being closely monitored, and every possible hideout is being thoroughly investigated.

A Sign of the Changing Nature of Terrorism

This seizure also provides a glimpse into the changing tactics of terrorism in Kashmir, where terrorists are now adopting long-term hiding strategies by setting up home-like hideouts in the forests.

Clearly, this is not just the discovery of a terrorist hideout, but a clue to the unraveling of the entire structure of the overground worker network operating in Kashmir.
