Major administrative reshuffle in the Mining Department, 8 District Mineral Officers transferred

The Jammu and Kashmir government has made a major administrative reshuffle in the Mining Department, transferring 8 District Mineral Officers (DMOs) and issuing orders for new appointments. The government has taken this step to make the department’s functioning more effective and strengthen the administrative system.

According to the order, Chander Kant Bhagat (JKAS), who was awaiting orders, has been appointed as the District Mineral Officer, Kishtwar. He has also been given additional charge of Doda district. Sunil Kumar (JKAS) has been appointed as the District Mineral Officer, Ramban, with additional charge of Udhampur.

Naved Hussain Badru (JKAS) has been appointed as the new District Mineral Officer of Kupwara. Kulwant Singh, District Mineral Officer, Samba, has been transferred and posted to the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Jammu. Meanwhile, Kishtwar District Mineral Officer Virinder Dev has been assigned to Samba district.

The government has transferred Kupwara District Mineral Officer Mumtaz Ahmad Shah and appointed him to CMT Lab Kashmir. All concerned officers have been directed to assume their new positions with immediate effect.

As part of this administrative reshuffle, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, Assistant Director of the Food and Civil Supplies Department in Baramulla, has also been transferred. He has been assigned the new responsibility of Under Secretary in the Home Department.

According to government sources, this reshuffle is aimed at increasing transparency, better coordination, and administrative efficiency in departmental work. The new deployment of officers will help in making the monitoring and management of mining activities in various districts more effective.
