GANDERBAL: Pursuant to directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Regulations, a meeting of the Monitoring and Mentoring Committee (M&MC) was held today at District Court Ganderbal.
The meeting aimed to review the progress of Legal Aid Cases assigned to the Panel Lawyers by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal.
The meeting was chaired by Abdul Nasir, Chairman, DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Ganderbal and was joined by Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary, DLSA and Advocate Sajad Hyder Salathi as members of Monitoring and Mentoring Committee.
During the meeting, various cases were thoroughly examined and discussed. The Committee provided valuable recommendations and guidance to Panel Lawyers regarding best practices on efficient case management, urging Panel Lawyers to prioritize cases and maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring that the clients understand their rights, entitlements and the legal process.
All the Panel Lawyers were also sensitized by the Committee to serve selflessly for the poor, needy and marginalized sections of the society, to ensure punctuality in attending the Legal Aid Cases pending in different Courts of District Ganderbal in discharge of their duties professionally.
The meeting of the Monitoring and Mentoring Committee is a significant step towards ensuring that legal aid services are delivered effectively and efficiently to the needy and marginalized sections of society in the best possible way.
The committee will continue to monitor and mentor the Panel Lawyers to ensure effective implementation of Legal Aid Services.
