The annual fair at the world-famous Baba Chamliyal shrine, located on the ‘Zero Line’ of the India-Pakistan international border, concluded today amidst an atmosphere of devotion, faith, and brotherhood. Lakhs of devotees from various states across the country visited the shrine to pay their respects and pray for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the nation.
Long queues of devotees were seen at the shrine complex and surrounding areas from early morning. Expressing their unwavering faith in the saint, devotees offered prayers and participated in the religious activities organized during the fair. Extensive arrangements were made for langar (community kitchen) services, drinking water, medical aid, resting areas, and other essential facilities.
The Border Security Force (BSF), district administration, and police remained fully vigilant to ensure the fair concluded peacefully and safely. Amidst tight security arrangements, the movement of devotees continued smoothly, and the administration maintained constant oversight of the proceedings throughout the event.
Local residents and volunteers also contributed enthusiastically to the event. Hundreds of volunteers remained active throughout the day, assisting with langar services, traffic management, and helping the devotees. Visitors praised the arrangements and described the fair as a symbol of faith and brotherhood.
The world-famous Baba Chamliyal fair is not merely a religious event; it also conveys a message of peace, harmony, and communal amity along the border. Held annually, this fair is considered a vital part of Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural and religious heritage, drawing a large number of devotees from across the country.
