KCR suspends daughter K Kavitha from BRS over remarks against party

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Tuesday suspended its MLC K Kavitha from the party with immediate effect.

The decision was taken by her father, former Telangana Chief Minister, and Party President K Chandrashekar Rao, who cited her recent comments and activities that went against the policies and principles of the party as the reason for disciplinary action.

Kavitha’s suspension marks a major development within the BRS, coming at a time when the party is already navigating internal challenges.

The move comes after weeks of escalating tension. Only a day before her suspension, she sparked a storm within BRS by openly blaming party colleagues for damaging KCR’s image. She accused senior leader T Harish Rao and ex-MP Megha Krishna Reddy of attaching a “corruption tag” to her father, and alleged conspiracies by Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar to sideline her.
